About the Opera House
The Hortonville Opera House originated as the village's opera house and meeting space in 1913.
The building was placed on the National Register of Historical Places by the United States Secretary of the Interior on January 23, 1981.
Today, the Hall houses the Hortonville Historical Society's Museum and is used for many village or private events such as the annual Hortonville Community Hall Jazz Dance which helps a local organization fundraise to help battle cancer. The Historic Hortonville Community Hall currently is called home by many civic groups including the Hortonville Area Chamber of Commerce, the Black Otter Lake District, the Hortonville Historical Society and the American Legion who host their regular meetings and special events at the Community Hall. In addition, regular voting is also held in the lower portion of the Hall.
